The Nueva Exchange Program

The SMIC and Nueva schools have established this exchange program since 2010 when both schools recognize the value of global citizenship as one of the important qualities we would like our graduates to possess. This year the Exchange Program is offered to G7 and G8 students from both tracks. The purpose of this program is to broaden the horizon of SMIC students beyond their daily school, experience Western culture and its education, and practice English language in an authentic environment. In addition, they will live in a host family for further cultural and language experience. In exchange, SMIC students will host Nueva students in May when Nueva students come to our school to explore Chinese culture and practice the language.

The Nueva School was founded in 1967, and is a US well-recognized, award-winning independent school located in the San Francisco Bay Area. This school has more than 50 years of history, serving gifted and talented students from Kindergarten through high school.
